Heather Perdue’s angel is holding a basket of pansies, her symbol. I thought it would be easy enough to add her other symbol, which reflects her Christianity, the cross in her necklace. Following that theme, and incorporating a subliminal cross in the clouds pays homage to the many subliminal symbols hidden in the original dome painting at Cumberland College.  – Wayne Taylor
